Dhanushkodi  is small town in Rameswaram located in the southern tip of the Rameswaram island.  In most of the part of the town was destroyed 1964 cyclone. The most of the place is now under  the Sea water.  The minimum part of  the twn only now having. This is the famous tourist place and pilgrimage town. Also in the past had hotels and textile shops they did the transporting the goods across the sea. Also railway station connected between the Pamban and Dhanushkodi  passenger train and post office and schools was available on those days  after storm  cyclone 1964 all the places and tracks are destroyed.



Now a days its tourist places to visit. The visitors can allow before sunset. Need to travel 15 to 20 km lonely cared places. To reach that place. From Rameswaram the regular government bus service available or you can take the Taxi or car to reach Dhanushkodi town.  From that place some 4 wheel driving vans and jeeps are available. Only those vehicles can able to travel on the land. Now a days its tourist places to visit. The visitors can allow before sunset. Need to travel 15 to 20 km lonely cared places. To reach that place.   From that place some 4 wheel driving vans and jeeps are available. Only those vehicles can able to travel on the land. They charge around 50Rs to 100Rs for each person. Per van they take nearly 30 members. then the van start travel to the end part of the Dhanushkodi. on the way you ca see the places railway station and temples and houses was destroyed  due to the storm on 1964 .is very good location for visiting tow very minimum land to go that end of the sea .
